The Raptor boys golf squad captured runner-up honors at the Western Valley Conference in Holstein last Monday. Ridge View’s team score of 162 was second only to OABCIG with a 155. The Raptors were led by Kellen Clausen and Gavin Vohs, who both fired identical scores of 39. They were followed closely by Drew Burk with a 40 and Levi Albers with a 44. Cayden Clausen turned in a score of 49, while Jackson Struck contributed a 54.
The Ridge View girls track team participated in the Rod Smith Invitational at Woodbine on Tuesday. The Raptor gals won the event, scoring 155 points compared to second place Woodbine with 99 points.
The Ridge View boys track and field squad competed at the annual Rod Smith Invitational at Woodbine on Tuesday. The Raptors captured third place at the meet, scoring 93 points. Woodbine won the event with 141 points.
The Ridge View boys track team is optimistic for the new season. Head track coach Dale Tokheim is in his 8th year, and has been assistant coach since 2012. He is being assisted by Justin Kinney. Tokheim talked about some key team members lost to graduation.
The Ridge View girls track team is looking to repeat last year's success, under the guidance of head coach Angie Kohn, assistant coach Angela Brinkman, and volunteer coach Lisa Shepherd. The Raptors have 31 athletes on the roster, including 2 seniors, 12 juniors, 9 sophomores, and 8 freshmen.

Carter Wright, an 8th grader at Ridge View, wrestled in Districts on Feb. 6 and won Northwest Iowa's District One 160-lb C division.
In round one, Wright won by fall over Marcus Loutsch from Hinton. In the semifinal match, Wright won by fall over Abraham Palma from Boyden-Hull-Rock Valley.
The Ridge View boys track squad competed at the Nielson Indoor meet at Humboldt on Friday. In the 60-meter dash, Isaac Goettsch took fourth place with a time of 7.58 seconds, while Kade Wright finished ninth with a time of 7.65 seconds. In the 200-meter dash, Zach Kolpin finished eighth out of 43 runners with a time of 26.46 seconds. Cornell McCray took 17th place with a time of 27.37 seconds. In the 400-meter dash, Clayton Jacobson finished ninth out of 34 runners with a time of 59.84 seconds.
Ridge View Archers wrapped up their season this past weekend with state qualifiers competing in Des Moines. The students spent Friday volunteering helping the Iowa DNR and NASP staff setting up for the state event. On Saturday morning, students shot 3D and Bullseye. 3D consists of 6 animals set a various distances from 10m - 15m). A perfect score - all 10s - would be a 300. Bullseye competition is shot at a traditional archery target with 15 arrows shot at 10m and 15 arrows shot at 15m.
