The Ridge View girls track and field squad competed in the East Sac County Relays in Sac City last Monday. The Raptors came out on top once again, compiling 147 team points. Their nearest competition was Southeast Valley with 132 points.
Taya Phillips took fourth place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.43 seconds. Ridge View dominated the 200-meter dash, as Gabi Mason won the event in 27.05 seconds, while Arissa Kretlow won second place in 27.84 seconds. Faith Freese captured second place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:06.52.
The Ridge View boys track and field squad captured first place in the East Sac County Relays in Sac City on Monday. The Raptors tallied 128 team points, narrowly defeating Southeast Valley with 127 points for the team title.
Isaac Goettsch captured first place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.39 seconds. Kellen Jensen won the 400-meter dash, clocking in at 51.54 seconds. Drew Blum won first place in the 110-meter hurdles, turning in the winning time of 15.18 seconds.
The Ridge View boys golf team earned second place at Wednesday’s Class 2A Sectional golf tournament in Mapleton. The Raptors advanced two individuals at the sectional meet. Kellen Clausen shot a 78 to place fourth out of 47 golfers, and Gavin Vohs shot an 81 to advance. The two played on Monday in Carroll. Other Ridge View scores were Drew Burk with an 82, and Robert Forristal carded an 87. Levi Albers scored a 93 and Gabe Chance contributed a 94. Carroll Kuemper won the meet with a team score of 308.
The Ridge View boys and girls track and field teams participated in the Westwood Relays at Sloan on Friday. The Raptors gals won the meet with 142 team points. Their closest competition was Homer, Nebraska with 88 points. The Ridge View boys took third place in the nine-team field with 97 points. West Monona won the meet with 139 team points.
The Ridge View girls track and field squad traveled to Kingsley for Western Conference Championship meet last week. The Raptors came home victorious, winning the meet with a whopping 175 team points. Their nearest competition was Lawton-Bronson with a team score of 91 points.
The Ridge View boys track and field squad traveled to Kingsley for the Kingsley-Pierson/Woodbury Central Invitational on Thursday. The Raptors captured first place with a team score of 138, getting past KP-WC with 127 points. Other scores included Harris-Lake Park (68), Siouxland Christian (45), and River Valley (23).
Ridge View coach Dale Tokheim shared his thoughts on the team’s performance.
“The day started off a little warm, but it was nice because the wind wasn't blowing very much. After an hour-long wait, the meet was canceled with 4 events left due to lightning.
The Ridge View boys track and field squad took part in the Western Valley Conference championship meet in Kingsley last week. The Raptors took fourth place in the eight-team field with 73 points. The West Monona boys won the meet with 117.5 team points.
The Ridge View boys golf squad took part in a Western Valley Conference tournament at Kingsley last Monday. The Raptors finished fifth in the eight-team field with a score of 178. Woodbury Central won the meet with a team score of 165. Ridge View was led by Kellen Clausen and Levi Albers, who both fired identical scores of 42. Right behind them were Drew Burk with a 46 and Robert Forristal with a 48. Gavin Vohs fired a 53, while Jackson Struck shot a 54.
The Ridge View girls golf squad hosted a Western Valley Conference tournament last Monday, finishing third out of nine teams with a score of 212. Kingsley-Pierson won the meet with a team score of 197. The Raptors were led by Natalie Madsen, who fired a 51. Right behind her were Zoey Aschinger with a 53, Emma Mentzer and Kierstin Volkert, who shot identical scores of 54. Beth Mentzer fired a 58, followed closely by Addison Voge with a 61.
The Ridge View boys golf squad came out on top in a triangular meet against River Valley and Woodbury Central on Thursday night in Holstein. The Raptors had a team score of 159, defeating the Wildcats (164) and Wolverines (236). Kellen Clausen claimed medalist honors by firing a 38. Right behind him was Levi Albers with a 39, and Drew Burk and Robert Forristal who both shot identical scores of 41. Gavin Vohs fired a 43, and Kyle Burk contributed with a 50.
