The Raptors jumped out to an early 2-1 lead after one inning, then scored three runs in the third to build a 5-1 advantage. Westwood closed the gap to 5-3 in the fourth inning, but the Raptors responded by scoring three times in their half of the fourth, pushing the lead to 8-3. Ridge View tacked on a pair of insurance runs in the fifth inning, then cruised to a 10-3 victory.
The outcome was decided early when the Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire (GTRA) baseball team traveled to Holstein on Thursday, to take on the Raptors. Ridge View jumped out to a 5-0 lead after one inning, then scored twice more for a 7-0 advantage after two. The Raptors erupted for seven runs in the fourth inning to take a commanding 14-0 lead. GTRA avoided the shutout by plating a run in the fifth inning, but Ridge View came away with a dominating performance in the 14-1 victory.
The Raptor softball squad got off to a fast start and never looked back against Whiting-Siouxland Christian last week in Galva. Ridge View scored a pair of runs in both the first and second innings to jump out to a 4-0 lead. After a scoreless third inning, the Raptors put the Warriors away for good, exploding for eight runs in the fourth to run away with a 12-0 victory.

The Raptors jumped out to an 8-0 lead after one inning, then added a whopping 15 runs in the second inning to build a 23-1 advantage. The Eagles managed to plate one more run in the third inning, but could do no more as the 12-run rule came into effect and Ridge View earned the blowout victory.
On a beautiful night for baseball in Holstein, the Raptors took care of business against the visiting Eagles of Siouxland Christian. Following a scoreless first inning, Ridge View scored three runs in the second and another in the third for a 4-0 lead. The Eagles battled back with a pair of runs in the fourth inning to cut the margin to 4-2. In the bottom of the fourth, however, Cael Myrtue stepped to the plate and blasted a two-run homer to give the Raptors a 6-2 lead. Ridge View tacked on a pair of insurance runs in the sixth inning to pull away with the 8-2 victory.
The Raptor baseball team pulled off yet another one-run victory, this time edging MVAO-COU 3-2 on Wednesday night in Holstein. Ridge View struck first with a pair of runs in the second inning. The score would remain 2-0 until the fifth inning, when Blake Myrtue was called safe at home on a call that could’ve gone either way, giving the Raptors a crucial third run for a 3-0 lead. The Rams got on the scoreboard in the sixth inning, plating a run to trim the margin to 3-1.
The Ridge View softball squad traveled to Moville on Friday to take on Woodbury Central. The Wildcats struck first, taking a 1-0 lead after one inning. The Raptors bounced right back with a pair of runs in the second inning for a 2-1 advantage. Woodbury Central tied the game at 2-2 in their half of the inning. The rest of the contest was all Ridge View, as they plated three runs in the third inning for a 5-2 lead, one run in the fifth, three more in the sixth, and tacked on an insurance run in the seventh inning for a 10-2 victory.
The Raptors and Falcons squared off in Battle Creek on Tuesday in a conference softball matchup. Ridge View got on the board first with a run in the first inning and two more in the second for a 3-0 lead. OABCIG battled back, plating three runs in the third inning to tie the game at 3-3. The Raptors would answer, however, with four runs in the fourth inning for a 7-3 lead. In the fifth inning, Ridge View blew the game wide open, scoring 11 runs compared to the Falcons’ two scores for an 18-5 victory.

Both teams were hungry for a win after coming off tough losses, and the game would turn out to be a defensive showcase. As it turned out, that lead would hold up for most of the game, as the two squads held each other scoreless for the next four innings. A crucial series of plays came in the sixth inning, when the Falcons loaded the bases with no outs.
