Good Sam Society Nursing Home had their Easter fun on April 6. At noon, there were hotdogs, chips, and pop with free will donation. The eggs were hiding in the yard for the kids to begin the hunt. There were bikes and baskets of goodies for special prizes if a lucky child finds the golden egg. A clown showed up with bubble fun. And of course, the Easter Bunny was there!
Come strolling in around 7 p.m. at Ridge View’s north gym were anxious young girls and their daddys anticipating a wonderful night of dancing. There were cupcakes there to start, but it did not take a long time at all for the crowd of girls that grew throughout the night to get on the dance floor followed by their dads. Pretty bright dresses the young girls wore and suits and ties or relaxed wear were worn by the dads.
Splish Splash-the music of Bobby Darrin starring Ron Gartner, was at the Rosemary Clausen Center for Performing Arts on the evening of Saturday, April 6. It was a wonderfully entertaining night in which Gartner performed excitedly. The show certainly arose the audience.
The Ida County 4-H Foundation put on a pancake breakfast for many on the morning of April 7. Pancakes, sausage, bacon, milk, juice and coffee. The breakfast definitely satisfied the bellies of a crowd at the Cobblestone Inn in Holstein. This was a celebration of the 4-H Foundation’s 20th year of serving the Ida County Youth. The Ida County fair queen was there celebrating with the youth.
Easter Egg Hunt in Galva on Saturday, March 30 had many winners. Coloring contest winners were: Preschool - kindergarten, Braxton Lussman & Remington Lansink; 1st - 2nd grade, Ryan Jensen & Reyna Tesch; 3rd - 5th grade, Addie Lussman & Emmett Stuhr. We had 100 kids for our hunt, even as cold as it was that morning.
The Holstein City Council met on Tuesday, March 26 in City Hall. Alex Conover and Kristina Cronin of the Holstein Betterment Alliance were on hand to discuss the city purchasing the property located at 112 E 2nd Parcel ID 15-05-0514 and Parcel ID 15-05-050D.
