Total Motors of LeMars and Orange City has purchased the operation and franchises of Vollmar Motors Chevrolet and Buick. Total Motors is a family owned and operated Chevrolet, GMC and Buick franchised dealership in LeMars which is owned by the family of Scott and Michelle Taylor and their children Brooke and Dylan.
With a theme of Gnome for the Holidays, Shop Holstein will kick off Thursday, Dec. 2 and run through Sunday, Dec. 12.
A variety of activities are on the menu for Shop Holstein.
Kicking things off will be holiday sampling over at the Holstein Country Club. That is set for 6 to 8 p.m.
Then, Saturday, Dec. 4, Santa photos will start the day and run from 9 to 11 a.m. at Stubbs Memorial Library with lunch immediately following from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Veterans Memorial Hall. That will be an opportunity to support the community’s new aquatic center.
The onset of cooler weather might make it about the furthest thing from the minds of residents, but the Holstein pool is quietly undergoing some work that will make for a new experience come spring.
Holstein City Council received an update on the pool project during its most recent meeting.
Work is ongoing right now.
At this time, the concrete work is being undertaken, said Theresa Pudenz, city administrator.
“They’ve poured the deep end of the pool,” said Pudenz.
