Ridge View earns runner-up honors at WVC softball tournament

The Ridge View softball squad defeated Westwood 6-4 and MVAO/COU 8-4 last week, to advance to the

Western Valley Conference championship game against West Monona on Thursday at Onawa.

The Spartans came into the contest with a record of 19-3, and wasted little time showing how they had achieved

such an impressive resume. West Monona got off to a hot start, building a 7-0 lead after one inning of play. The

Spartans added a run in both the second and fourth innings, to increase the advantage to 9-0.
