HOLSTEIN - Vicki D. Godfrey, 73, of Holstein, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 10 a.m. at the Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Holstein with the Pastor Betty Kiboko officiating. Burial will be at the Sunset View Cemetery of Washta. A visitation will be held on Monday, April 21, 2025 from 4-6 p.m. at the Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Holstein. The Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Holstein is in charge of the arrangements.

Vicki was born Sept. 26, 1951, to Carroll and Lois (Howes) Young. She graduated from Sac Community High School in Sac City, in 1969.

She married Darrell Godfrey on July 8, 1978 at their home in Holstein and remained living in Holstein throughout the rest of their marriage. She was an avid crafter, creating paintings, yard signs and ornaments, needlepoint and afghans. Vicki and Darrell enjoyed selling their creations at the local craft fairs. Vicki also loved cooking, tending to her flower garden, camping trips, sightseeing and going for car rides.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Dorman and Trevia Young of New Market, Iowa, and Dallas and Ethel Howes of Bedford, Iowa; and nephew, Brandon Johnson of Hubbard, Texas.

She is survived by her husband Darrell Godfrey of Holstein; sisters and brothers-in-law, Tim and Patsy (Young) Mulcahy of Plano, Texas, Johnny “Red" and Tammy (Young) Johnson of Hubbard, Texas. She is also survived by several nephews and nieces.
