Steve was born on Aug. 23, 1955 to Wilbur and Barbara (Brooke) Nobles in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He graduated from Robbinsdale High School in 1973, where he excelled as a “Robbinsdale Robin” in soccer and downhill slalom skiing. After high school, Steve attended North Hennepin Community College. He made the move from the big city to Holstein in 1975 to begin working at Holstein Lumber and Structural Designs in the drafting/design department. Steve married Terri Meyer in 1979. They had two sons, Matthew Steven and Grant Michael. He enjoyed following their sporting events and was proud of all their accomplishments through the years.

Steve had a love and keen eye for design. He was always proud of the part he played in the design world and the construction of numerous homes and commercial projects in the Iowa and Nebraska area. Over the years, he worked for several construction companies, but most recently, Burke Engineering in Sioux City. Steve loved socializing with his friends and playing golf. He supported his numerous Minnesota sports teams, including the Gophers, the Vikings, the Wild, and the Iowa Hawkeyes. He especially loved relaxing time at the Verlo cabin “Up Norte” in Minnesota where he was always on “Lake Time.”

Steve is survived by his sons Matthew (Amanda) Nobles of Holstein, Grant Nobles and fiancé Becky Elming of Johnston; grandchildren, Aubrey and Dane Nobles of Holstein; brother, Jeff Nobles of Golden Valley, Minnesota;  sister, Julie Steffens of Albertville, Minnesota; nieces and nephews, Rachel, Clint, Whitney, Brooke and Dustin; and his lifelong best friend, Rick (Jennifer) Verlo of Maple Grove, Minnesota.
