Jeff courageously battled and overcame Leukemia twice, and in 2013, he received a life-saving bone marrow transplant that allowed him nearly 12 more wonderful years with his loved ones.

Jeffrey L. Vohs was born Jan. 18, 1953 to Lester and Colleen (Thompson) Vohs in Cherokee. He graduated from Galva High School in 1971, then from Iowa State University in 1975 with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science.

Jeff was united in marriage to Loraine Vande Kieft on Nov. 6, 1976 in Prairie City, Iowa. They were blessed with three children.

Jeff was a proud farmer who dedicated his life to the land, taking great pride in maintaining some of the cleanest and most well-kept land. He was a grain farmer and also raised farrow to finish pigs for 20 years, retiring from farming in 2023. When he wasn’t farming, Jeff was a supporter of the Iowa State Cyclones and collected vintage tin wind-up toys. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. He loved and supported his family in everything they did.

He is survived by his wife, Loraine; children, Chad (Amy) Vohs of Polk City, Iowa, Tyler (Whitney) Vohs of Galva, and Michelle (Troy) Jacobson of Schaller; grandchildren, Jaxen Vohs, Zach, Zoey, Zaiden and Zaylee Vohs and Emma Jacobson; step-grandchildren, Kody, Conner, Carson and Elizabeth Jacobson. He is also survived by his sisters, Julie (Ken) Hansen of Milford, Iowa and Lisa (Randy) Tjaden of Titonka, Iowa; brother, Joel (Wendy) Vohs of Galva, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
