Heidi Lynn Howard was born on June 24, 1973 to Lynette Strackbein and Robert Groszkrueger.
She graduated from Storm Lake High School in 1991 and had various jobs in early life, mostly caring for those that needed her. Her most recent career was providing cleaning services for several members of the community. She was meticulous in her duties and took extreme pride in this work for customers as she saw them as family.
Heidi was the most loving, giving, and nonjudgmental human. She loved everyone and accepted them for who they were, with value. Heidi was so capable of seeing the good in every soul. She would do anything for anyone and always had an approach that made everyone feel welcomed around her. Her belief in our Lord, Jesus Christ gave her a gift, the gift of honesty, love, and truth.
Heidi could often be found at the Holstein Country Club in the late afternoon. Some of her favorite times were being one of the guys, always there in the thick of things watching sports or the local news at 5. Heidi loved these guys more than they would ever know. It was always one of the highlights of her day being together with them.
Heidi met her equal, Troy Howard in September 2011, and they were married on Sept. 1, 2012. With that union, they welcomed four children, Alan, Cole, Lacey, and Sara. During these years, those four children brought them six grandchildren, Nash, Gabe, Hudson, Kaleb, Tucker, and Cambria.
Heidi Lynn Howard ended her journey on Monday, Oct. 13, 2025 at 5:42.18. The hour is so defined because at that very moment, as Heidi drew her last breath, the nursery announced the birth of a child. It was a baby boy.
Heidi is survived by her mother, Lynette Pullen; her children, Alan (girlfriend, Bailey), Cole, Lacey (better half, Jacob), Sara (Ben) Van Houten; grandchildren, Nash, Hudson, Tucker, Gabe, Kaleb and Cambria and sister, Kami (boyfriend, Shawn) Tiefenthaler and her daughter, JoLynn and brother, Brad (Luann) and their children Sadie ad Grayson. Heidi is also survived by her best friends, Steph Clausen and Tony Henderson, as well as several aunts, uncles, and numerous friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy; father, Robert Groszkrueger, and both sets of her grandparents.
Heidi would ask that you find peace in your sorrow and know she found Troy’s touch again.
