Stewart E. Schuett, son of Marvin and Elaine Schuett, was born March 4, 1956, in Ida Grove. When he was young the family relocated to Colorado; they returned to Ida Grove in 1990.

Stewart joined Independent Living in Holstein and resided at the Somerset Apartments in Holstein. He was employed by ISI for several years and enjoyed working various jobs, up until the COVID-19 pandemic.

A devoted Christian, Stewart was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ida Grove. He loved to travel and took many adventures with his brother, Steven.

They enjoyed traveling to Memphis, Las Vegas, the Black Hills, Florida (making a stop at Disney), Minnesota to the Mall of America, Badlands of North Dakota and California, where Stewart had the opportunity to dip his toes in the ocean, which brought him pure joy.

Stewart had the privilege of participating in Special Olympics in bowling, where he achieved two medals. He loved to watch and listen to birds. His stepmother, Dorla, gave him a book on birds, which he truly cherished, along with her visits.

He also enjoyed painting, taking walks, going to movies at the State Theatre in Holstein, old westerns and the Christmas season. He was an avid Elvis fan and memorabilia collector.

A tall man with a gentle spirit, who was soft-spoken, Stewart will hold a place, in the hearts of those who loved him, forever.

Stewart recently became ill and was later diagnosed with liver cancer in 2020. He resided at Willow Dale Wellness Village in Battle Creek. There, in his final days, he was bravely and gently called home to his Lord and Savior.

Left to cherish his memory are his stepmother, Dorla Schuett of Ida Grove; a sister-in-law, Lea Schuett of Brooklyn Park, Minn.; a brother-in-law, Bob Pastore of Lakewood, Colo.; a brother, David (Michelle) Schuett of Sheridan, Wyo.; and his stepsiblings, Holly (Mal) Fleming of Gilbert, Ariz., and David (Dawn) Nolan of Cresco.

Also surviving are his aunts, Shirley Johnson of Ida Grove and Linda Johnson of Russell; an uncle, Ronnie (Patsi) Johnson of Calumet; extended family; and many dear friends.
