Raptors run to 30-6 win over Spartans

A reliance on the running game provided Ridge View with the punch it needed to knock out West Monona 30-6 in district football play in Onawa Friday.

Ridge View rushed for 257 yards on 56 carries and scored all four of its touchdowns on the ground. Brody Deitering led the rushing effort with 169 yards and three touchdowns on 24 carries.

“The offense played better this week and we really made an effort to run the ball out of the spread,” said coach Dale Tokheim. “After we scored early in the third quarter, we really didn’t look to pass much. We even went to the wing-T for awhile to practice some things out of that formation.”
