Raptor baseball club drops two conference games

Ridge View’s baseball team lost to West Monona and Maple Valley-Anthon-Oto/Charter Oak-Ute in conference games last week. The Raptors dropped to 0-4 on the year and in the Western Valley Conference.  

Ridge View’s game against Woodbury Central May 29 was postponed.

WM 15, RV 8

The Raptors got off to rough start in their 15-8 conference loss to West Monona May 24. Ridge View committed three errors and gave up 12 runs in the first inning. 

The Raptors mounted a comeback by scoring one run in the third inning, five runs in the fourth and two runs in the fifth to cut the Spartans’ lead to 13-8.  West Monona scored a couple of insurance runs in the sixth inning.

MVAOCOU 15, Ridge View 8

MVAOCOU jumped out to an early lead over the Raptors in a conference contest May 27.

The Rams scored six runs in the second inning and never trailed. MVAOCOU was up 7-0 heading into the bottom of the third inning and 9-3 going into the bottom of the fourth frame. Ridge View did cut into the lead, 9-7, by scoring three runs in the third inning and four runs in the fourth inning, but that was as close as the Raptors would come to the Rams.
