Legion posts plan Veterans' Day observances

Legion posts in Holstein and Galva have activities planned to commemorate Veterans’ Day, Sunday, Nov. 11. Because Veterans’ Day falls on a Sunday, the programs and events will be held either prior to or shortly after Veterans’ Day.

Weather permitting the Holstein American Legion will put up its Avenue of Flags Friday, Nov. 9 at 1 p.m. The flags will be taken down on Monday, Nov. 12 at 1 p.m. Volunteers who want to help put up or take down the flags are appreciated. Volunteers are asked to meet at the Char-Mac Assisted Living parking lot.

The Galva American Legion and Galva-Holstein Upper Elementary students will host a program for the public at the Galva-Holstein Upper Elementary School in Galva Friday, Nov. 9 at 9 a.m. The program will include the presentation of three shadow boxes for holding an American flag that will be presented to the families of three deceased Galva veterans.
