Holstein Chamber looking for volunteers to help with Douglas Schoolhouse

Sylvia and Keith Carstens of Holstein are stepping down from their role of Douglas Schoolhouse overseers. The Holstein Chamber of Commerce is asking the community for help in keeping the building operational.
“It is the hope of the Holstein Chamber of Commerce that there are people in our community who have enough interest in our history, artifacts and keepsakes of that history, so that the Douglas Schoolhouse can continue to bring our heritage to life for school groups, residents, former residents and organizations for many years to come through the Holstein Heritage Foundation,” said Gayle Brown, Chamber president.
Brown added, the Chamber recently took back responsibility for the expenses and arrangement for upkeep of the property and is looking for people to become part of the Holstein Heritage Foundation.
