Galva-Holstein school board reviews plans for addition

The Galva-Holstein School Board met in special session Jan. 29 to discuss the planned addition to the building in Holstein and approved a retirement incentive plan.

The board reviewed schematic plans for the new addition planned for the north side of the current elementary wing in Holstein. When completed, the addition will include a new gymnasium, an industrial tech area, a couple of classrooms, related remodeling and improvements and site improvements.

The board also looked at a tentative timeline to sell bonds for the project. The board is looking at a possible sale date of late May or early June. The board would like to let bids on the project in that same time frame with a possible construction start date of August.
