Galva council fails to override mayor’s veto

The Galva City Council met in special session Oct. 29 to approve the fireworks amendment banning first class fireworks in Galva.

The special meeting and vote were necessitated following Mayor Stan Nading vetoing the amendment at the Oct. 8 council meeting. At that meeting, the council voted to ban first class fireworks upon the second reading of the ordinance. The council then approved a motion to suspend the rule waiving the third reading and approved the ordinance amendment.
