Elected officials take oath of office, board approves utility valuations

The Ida County Board of Supervisors reorganized and swore in elected officials Jan. 2.

Rhett Leonard was sworn in after his November re-election to district 3 supervisor. Other officials taking the oath were Traci Riessen-treasurer, Julie Phillips-recorder and Meghann Cosgrove-county attorney. Creston Schubert was elected board chairman and Ray Drey was elected vice chairman for 2019.

The supervisors designated the following dates as courthouse and engineer’s office holidays for 2019: Monday, Feb. 18, President’s Day; Monday, May 27, Memorial Day; Thursday, July 4, Independence Day; Monday, Sept. 2, Labor Day; Monday, Nov. 11, Veterans’ Day; Thursday and Friday, Nov. 28 and 29, Thanksgiving holiday; Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 24 and 25, Christmas holiday and Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020, New Year’s Day.
